Delhi

I was a silly traveler during that time. The heat, our sleep-deprived trip schedule and later personal catastrophes have lead to very limited photos taken, and even less currently in my possession. I'm in the process of restoring the photos; come back later!

We entered Delhi on the Hazrat Nizamuddin station, coming from Agra early in the morning. We headed towards the nearby Humayun tomb, as it was planned. There was another Mughal tomb of Abdul Rahim Khan I Khan on the way, also an interesting one, amidst some renovation works.

Our planning sucked, because the Humayun tomb was closed this early, and we had to wait while desperately wanting to sleep.

The entry price was high for the foreigners here, as in other cultural sites of India. This tomb is a much more quiet, practically empty place, and had much better colours than the Taj Mahal: it was all clay and the greenery. No people were present, but there were lots of myna bird couples, parrots, black kites and palm squirrels. A nice place to rest from the noise.

My eyelids were falling down as I tried to click my camera.

We visited some more places during the sweltering heat of the day, including a long and very sleepy museum of fine arts. It was so hot that we aborted the mission of getting close to the Indian Gates as it required traversing significant space without shadows. Later we retreated to a hostel and slept at last.

Not for a long time, however. We had to wake up early and get on the train to Haridwar. Here's a moment in life of the Delhi Cantonment trans station:
