This was a failed attempt of recreation in Crimea the paid way — not with our own tents. We had no experience of such Crimea, and were met by the nuances of paid accommodation. The newly obtained experience follows: 1) hosts did not want to take guests for one night, because of fear to lose possible clients for longer periods; 2) Crimea is overcrowded in summer, so there were no places to stay anyway; 3) locals not caring even to politely speak, because losing two clients is not a big deal if you have a hundred more; 4) many tourists means lots of garbage.
Unfortunately, one of us had a disability, so the only good thing to do — hike the beautiful mountains, Kara-Dag at least — was not an option. We visited Feodosia and Sudak, behaving as Carrol's White Rabbits — pretending we did not have the time for anything instead of calmly enjoying the place. We visited dull museums instead of just enjoying the beautiful nature.
We ended up sleeping on the ground anyway. One host has let us sleep on her territory using hiking accessory such as foam carpets and sleeping bags. Here is the view from her garden, lucky she. This was in a locality of Kurortne village called the Vyazemsky Biostation settlement.
The beautiful Kara-Dag mountain spirit laughed at me because I could only watch, but not hike and touch. Unlucky me.
Lanterns in Feodosia were sporting this decoration resembling the wall drawings of youngsters, who are just reaching the puberty.
The overcrowded municipal beach of Feodosia had a strongly stinking public toilet, which prevented us — but did not prevent everyone else! — from swimming and sunbathing as if they did not have the sense of smell.
We were in a constant hurry, which was absolutely not needed during this trip. Maybe, it was something psychological. On our way back to Kyiv, I overheard a man telling someone that he had to have a week of rest from this attempt at resting. He was totally right.
