A tiny visit to the city center

The old part of the city is a rectangular grid. Some say that the architects were the same that planned the rectangular part of Odesa.

The buildings were seasoned; streets were narrow and pothole-rich. Cherkasy has its own Khreshchatik street, but it is not wider than a driveway in Kyiv's Rusanivka. Something new was under construction:

The buildings were old and lovely. This building with «1864» and «1914» on its walls housed the «Vechirni Cherkasy» newspaper, among others.

A nice school №17, big and epic enough to compete with the foreign affairs ministry in Kyiv.

The musical fountain was not turned on. Either having an off-season, or everyone got fed up with it. The sign said: «No bathing, has voltage!»

The absolute leader of sightseeing in Cherkasy was the electronic eternal flame in the hand of a statue of the Glory hill memorial. I did not expect this, and it was hard to believe my own eyes! A performance for the ages from the city government!

The Dnieper that you can see in Cherkasy is the Kremenchuk reservoir. It was calm on its shore.
