The below photos have been taken in a locality called Neumünchenstein or Münchenstein Dorf; some were made on the border between Neumunchenstein and Neuewelt.
We were staying in a camping site. The two nearest tents are ours. It was weak rain all the time, which was an inconvenience bacause my shoes got torn. I couldn't buy the replacement for a couple of reasons: it's been the weekend and no open shops have been found; I didn't have the money because it was Switzerland around me while I came there from a much poorer country. I only bought shoes on the way back to Ukraine — in Poland. I didn't complain, however, because it was real Switzerland around me, and I wasn't sure that I'll be able to visit it again in my whole life.
Saw these nice looking hexagonal grid with moss near the cultural and sports center KUSPO — it was beautiful. Tried walking barefoot here — it wasn't pleasant because the grid was too hard for the feet.
It was Switzerland around me, so I needed to go and look at whatever can be seen. After 100 meters of walking in a randomly chosen direction I stumbled upon this sign for cyclists:
Found the small river called Birs nearby. This river is a tributary of the Rhine, and this place is five kilometers from the river mouth.
There were three bridges in the same place over Birs — tram rails, railroad and the automobile road of Baselstrasse, under all of which my random footpath went. I noticed the information sheet on one of the bridges. I googled this bridge some time later and found out that the railway bridge was designed by Gustave Eiffel himself, and there has been a major fatal accident called Münchenstein rail disaster here in 1891, with over 70 people dead.
A traffic sign at one of the entrances to beautiful footpaths along Birs.
Footpath was nice, and had benches like these:
There was a freeway passing over Birs not far away.
Stumbled upon a bicycle skeleton in a place where Rüttihardstrasse meets the Birs footpath.
I turned my way into the Rüttihardstrasse and saw a Robidog box for the bags with feces of dogs:
Rüttihardstrasse street looked like this.
Someone's garden on Rüttihardstrasse.
I had this bag that belonged to a friend. Made its photo with a fire hydrant.
8-tention, kids!
There they are — the kids to pay attention to. Firing small fireworks on Zollweidenstrasse. Many people have been firing fireworks on this day. It could be some date, probably.
That bag with a hydrant again.
It was Switzerland around — so everything had to be photographed as a souvenir. Here's a sewer lid.
Here's a mirror installed near a railroad crossing for the drivers:
A nice house near tram rails was seen during my random walks.
A traffic sign prohibiting horse access to a footpath.
I saw so little of Basel. It seemed that I was walking a lot. Needs a revisit!
